Birth of my 2nd Baby

Its been a long time since I did any posting. I have tried believe me, but its difficult.
However, last week, my wife gave birth to my second child - Adenrele is his name and I know this is something I can put up here.

My first child was a girl and I love her very much. However, I still got the feeling after the birth of the second baby (a boy) that lots of people around me celebrated the fact that the baby was a boy more than they celebrated the birth of the baby in the first place. That fact that many of the people seem to ask quickly, "what did she have?" and then congratulate 'more' when I said, boy. Is it me or do people still cherish the birth of a baby boy more than a girl?

What do you think?

Congrats on the birth of your daughter. the most important thing is that the baby is born healthy, the sex of the baby comes after.
It is said that male children enable us to live forever while Daughters will get married and change their name.

I suppose it was fitting after a girl to have a boy and complete the spectrum. Hence the more vociferous congrats. I imagine I would get a similar response if I were to add a girl to the already full team of 3 boys...

I was truly happy for you, but like Tunde said the most important thing is the baby was born healthy unfortunately in this part of the world even with all our civility, male children are still more cherished than females.
