One of the key issues I got out of the programme was that there are many people in Nigeria who are actually thinking of and doing things to produce what I call the "New Nigeria". This New Nigeria obviously cannot be like the old one where all sorts of "anti-everything" (permit me to speak freely), holds sway.

I will not try in this one time to outline everything now. I will however start by asking readers to send me their comments on "actionable" ideas that 'we' can develop to move this country forward to a state/place where they would be proud of. You see, as I told a friend of mine in a discussion this week which sort of centered on the role different individuals play in Nigeria. My take was that we needed more people with "action" and less talk. (am I sounding like a radion station?) What do you think?

I'm back.

I am back from a long break of "blogging". Sorry guys.
Today I wanted to talk about how we as Christians interpret the scriptures. The aim of course is to develop ourselves as proof producers of the word instead of just 'evangelising' by knocking doors.

Was in a seminar last week and one of the lessons learnt was that I should strive to interpret the gospel or the scriptures with the modern mind. That got me thinking; are we as Christians bringing or applying the gospel in our daily lives. Are our stock brokers discovering any intelligence and thereby using it in the daily application of stock trading for us? Are our bankers, doctors, consultants etc doing the same or are we just like any other person, working from eight (nine) to five and waiting for a salary? What's the difference between our Christian 'workers' and the 'others'

Looking around, I must admit that I dont see enough of Christians practising our so-called Christianity like this. I see alot of other ways though.

What do you think? Am I right in thinking that we as Christians should offer something 'extra' and that extra is what should make us different from people that are not in covenant with God?

Nigerian Pastors in the UK...

I think this is for the guys outside Nigeria mostly (even though everyones thoughts are welcome)....

I was talking to a friend of mine about a christian conference I was going to attend in London this year (June 18 actually). However, I still got the feeling after the birth of the second baby (a boy) that lots of people around me celebrated the fact that the baby was a boy more than they celebrated the birth of the baby in the first place. That fact that many of the people seem to ask quickly, "what did she have?" and then congratulate 'more' when I said, boy.
